Been a While
To say we have been busy would be and understatement. Since our last update on this site we have been to Honduras, Indonesia, and Haiti 4 times! Can you say Frequent Flier Miles!!
Aimee and I are so blessed to do what we do. We never take for granted the team that we have behind us supporting and praying for us so this work is possible. Our biggest desire for our team is that they understand and know that their role is really irreplaceable. So team, if you are reading this, pat yourself on the back, give someone a high 5 and say to yourself, my team has been all over the world the past 2 months serving the poor and suffering with the love of God.
We thank God for you daily, you are all such a blessing to us. Here is a snapshot of what we have done together the past few months:
-Worked in Haiti to ensure that
7000+ kids receive a nutritious meal everyday
-Visited 27 schools in
Haiti to asses how Convoy of Hope can further enrich lives of children
-Worked on
installing a welding shop in Honduras that will teach young men to
provide for their families
-Traveled to the other side of the world to Indonesia 72 hours after a major earthquake wrecked thousand of lives to offer help and aid.
We don't look at these things as something to brag about, but to give praise to God for his favor and for our team that makes it possible.
Keep up the good work team!
We are updating twitter and facebook daily, so please follow us!

On the Road Again.....
I was in Haiti last week working in the mountains on a new exciting project. Thought I would share my little summary i wrote up about the project.
The Participants in the Rain Gauge network were eager to be involved. They were excited for the opportunity to be able to serve their community and the possibility of the lives this system could save not just in their village, but in their country.
Through funding through the Kellogg Foundation, and working a long side our partner Mission of Hope Haiti we have been able to launch an early warning flood detection network. This program is a direct response to the flooding in September 2008 that killed 70 people in one night in the city of Cabaret.
Through strategically placed digital rain gauges in the mountains above the city of Cabaret we are hoping to create a successful emergency network that can communicate high levels of rain and changing river levels with the Valley below. Currently there is no system in place to give the residents in Cabaret any kind of warning on possible flood conditions. Convoy of Hope and Mission of Hope are excited about the possibility of lives being saved through this project. This is yet another way that COH is mobilizing resources to reach out to the poor and suffering all around the world.
It would not be possible for Aimee and I to be involved in projects like these without your faithful support and prayers.

Coming Home
Hello everyone,
Aimee and I are very excited to say that we will be heading home in 6 days. Our time here in Costa Rica has been life changing, and we both now feel even more prepared to work with so many more people around the world.
Thanks for all the prayers and support. Look for our latest newsletter in your inbox or mailbox soon.

Pura Vida
Friends,
It's hard to believe that I am sitting here this morning only 4 weeks away from finishing language school. It seems that time flies by fast for all of us, but it especially flies by when you are far from home, and learning new things.
Coming to Costa Rica has been an amazing journey for Aimee and I. We have learned so much about ourselves, culture, and even a little bit of Spanish. Although this time has been great we are excited to be looking forward to our calling: Sharing the hope of Jesus Christ to a world that is hurting, and looking for truth.
Would you pray for us? Aimee and I have about 4 weeks of classes left before coming back to the States.1- Please pray that we will finish strong, and pick up as much knowledge as we can. 2- Please pray for our continued education upon return home, 4 months of language school is only a start, we have much work to do when returning home to continue our education pray for motivation to continue to learn, and pray for relationships to be formed as we seek new Latin friends to practice with. 3- I have to be honest, finances have been weighing on my mind during my time here, and solely on my lack of faith. We still have to finish raising our budget when we get back, please pray that the funds will come in, and also pray that our faith will remain in the God who has got us this far, and will provide for what he has called us to.
Thank you friends for your prayers and financial support, our work would not be possible without you.
Sharing hope together,
Kevin and Aimee
poco y poco
little by little is how our Spanish learning is coming along. Everyday we feel like we understand a little more, and know a few more words to try out. I cant lie to you all, its tough, I have been known to be an impatient person a time or two in my life, and learning another language isn't exactly something that you can pick up right away. Aimee and I are both so excited to be here, and know that this is such a great opportunity. We pray that God will keep our attitudes fresh and positive everyday, and remind us that we are here to be better equipped to serve the poor and hurting around the world. Thank you for your prayers and financial support, we cannot be out here working without your support. your missionaries,
Kevin and Aimee
ps. pictures coming soon.
We made it......
Aimee and I arrived in Costa Rica last night about midnight. Our apartment at the school is very nice and homey, we are still working on getting unpacked, and everything put away.
Today we had interviews and testing first thing to determine out current level of spanish knowledge. They told me that I don't even speak good english, and my spanish was doomed!! JK. I can tell that this is going to be a great environment for both Aimee and I to learn in.
Please pray for Aimee as she is still fighting a cold she brought with her.
Stay tuned, more to come later.
Kevin and Aimee
Feliz Navidad
Merry Christmas everyone!!! Aimee and I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and New Years.
Aimee and I will be heading south to Costa Rica in less than 3 weeks. I know what you are all thinking, "it must be rough to be a missionary!!! Spending the winter in Costa Rica............sheez!!" I think the same thing often :). We will be spending almost 4 months in Costa Rica at language school learning Spanish. We are very excited for this opportunity, we know that being able to communicate in Spanish will make our ministry so much more effective. It will help us tremendously as we respond to disasters, work on development projects, and lead teams into Central and Latin America.
Please keep us in your prayers as we study. Please pray:
-we can learn the language quickly
-we wont get discouraged
-finances as we need to complete our budget.
-pray for ministry opportunities in Costa Rica. We want to be used while we are there.
-Protection for us and our families while we are away.
I look forward to updating blogs and photos from Costa Rica, don't worry it will still be in English :)
Thank you for your continued prayers and financial support.

AERDO
I just returned from a conference this week with a few of my colleagues from Convoy. Convoy is a part of an organization called AERDO (Association of Evangelical Relief and Development Organizations). This organization is a forum for organizations like Convoy to share and discuss issues and ideas involving Christian Relief and development.
It was a great time of meeting other people who have a heart to serve and minister to the poor in the name of Christ. God is really using his people all over the world to reach out to the hurting and lost in many ways. It was so neat to hear all the different arenas people are working in. Everything from water, agriculture, sanitation, micro enterprise, disaster relief, and much more. The time together was encouraging and informational.
On the home front Aimee and I are getting excited to head to Language school January 7th, we cant believe how soon it is coming up. We will be living in Costa Rica from January returning back to the states the first of May.
Please keep us in your prayers for safe travel, ability to learn spanish easily, and for the rest of our funds to come in.
Thank you for your prayers and support.
Perspective
We all know there are problems in our world. But do we truly understand the magnitude of some of those problems? A friend of mine told me about a video called "Miniature Earth". This videos takes the same statistics of our world and places them on a village of 100 people. Watch the video for yourself it is a good reminder for us all to appreciate, and thank God for all he has given to us.
I truly believe that we as a church have a responsibility to the hurting and suffering in our world. What better way is there to show the love and compassion of our Savior Jesus Christ than by serving and loving those in need.
We must be grateful for what we have. But more importantly we must be ready to give of ourselves. People all around us are hurting, we must always look for opportunities to share the hope that is within us.(1 Peter 3:15)
Hands On
Since we are still in the process getting our budget fully raised we are splitting our time. Aimee is still full time at her job, and is assisting as much as she can(she is a great support to me all of the time). I am splitting my time between support raising, and Convoy of Hope.
I love having the opportunity to get to work at COH whenever possible. This past week I was able to be involved in loading out several containers heading to Haiti and Cuba. It is so great to load shoes, food, and cleaning supplies knowing that the people on the receiving end will be so blessed by these things. Because of friends like you some child will soon not have to walk barefoot through his/her hurricane ravaged town, because of friends like you people will get much needed food that they might not be able to get anywhere else. Most importantly because of friends like you, people will see first hand the love and Hope of Jesus Christ, and that's what its all about!!
Thank you for your support! Not only is it appreciated, it is desperately needed. We are being blessed daily by our supporters, but we still need more friends on our team. Friends to come along side us and partner with us financially and in prayer. We need to raise $2000 more in monthly support by year end. If you are not on our team will you consider joining us? $20 to $200 a month every bit helps. Please pray about being involved, help us bring hope to the hopeless.
serving together,
Kevin and Aimee
Pray for Haiti

Haitian Sensation!
Haitian Sensation
With the help of the team we were able to distribute about 300,000 meals, minister in 3 church services, do disaster preparedness education in 8 schools, ministered to kids in half a dozen orphanages, Prepared materials for water filters, and bagged food for the mission clinic.
The need in Haiti is great, but God is giving us great opportunities all the time to serve people through, water projects, food distribution, and education. please keep Haiti in your prayers.
Please also keep AImee in your prayers as we continue to work on raising our budget so we can go full time with Convoy of Hope. Our biggest need currently is monthly support. We need friends and family to consider partnering with us on a monthly basis. Every bit counts. We know some people can only give $10, but we know some people can do $100 per month. Please consider joining our team. if you would like more info, or know someone who might please let Aimee or I know.
Thank you friends!
